Ruins tell tales - Abandonment is just a new form of existence.

ABOUT

THE URBEX CAFE

Hi, my name's Erika, I was born in Sicily and in 2022 I created The Urbex Cafe.
The Urbex Cafe was born as the result of an individual idea, which grew out of the need to bring narrative and historical content for information purposes to the web for all Urbex lovers. Urbex is a contemporary phenomenon that has been attracting more and more people for a few years now. Many of them have turned their passion for exploration into a real job by bringing content representing various explorations in different abandoned places all over Italy but also abroad. My passion was born from an attraction I felt years ago towards mysterious and abandoned places, but until a few years ago I simply admired these places from the outside or satiated my hunger for curiosity by watching videos on YouTube. Then it happened: I conquered my fear and began, whenever possible, to explore various abandoned buildings from the inside. I soon realised that these places still had so much to tell and to give visitors like me, so many stories and past lives that I was determined to discover. Stories of everyday life, stories of tragedy and sadness, and anonymous ones that never transpired outside those walls. And it was from that moment that the idea was born to bring all these narratives together on a single website; abandoned hospitals, forgotten villas, castles or dwellings, or mystery and legends that haunt wonderful structures overlooked by nature.
